Hello and welcome to my musical blog. By now you know a little bit about me from looking through my website. I'm a drummer, I have a passion for music, and I strive to make people's lives better through music.

For the last fourteen years, I have been in a few bands, trying to get gigs and play in front of a live audience. From garage bands with high school friends, to auditioning and joining a gigging band (Left Hand Willy), to forming a cover band with previous band mates (Alchemy), it has been an amazing ride.

Currently, I am still with Alchemy, and we have a few private events we are playing at this summer. But I have found myself wanting more. I feel a need to make music a priority in my life, not just a hobby. I want to fill every part of my life with music, whether it be gigging, studio work, festivals, touring, busking, teaching, or just talking music with people. I want to make a career out of music, and I don't feel like I can make that happen where I am right now.

I need to be where the music is, and all the musicians I have met here in Central Alberta are happy playing a few gigs a year, basically using music as a side hustle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I love the each and every musician I know here. But I feel I have moved beyond the side hustle and am craving the career of music.

So here is the plan:

  • Move to the Vancouver area, one of the best cities for music in Canada

  • Attend shows, open mic nights, and jam nights to network with musicians

  • audition for bands

  • look into teaching drums

  • contact studios and offer my services as a drummer

  • get a busking license and busk in high foot traffic areas, and markets

I am going to do everything I can to get my name out there in the city. But before I do that, I have a few loose ends I need to tie up here in Alberta. Plans are already in motion to get to Vancouver, I just need to take it one day at a time.
